Many of us may have a blackberry that is different from what our service provider offers, these blackberries purchased from other networks may have different operating systems.

An operating system (OS) is an interface between hardware and user which is responsible for the management and coordination of activities and the sharing of the resources of a computer or other electronic device, that acts as a host for computing applications run on the machine. As a host, one of the purposes of an operating system is to handle the resource allocation and access protection of the hardware. Now, if your blackberry has an incorrect operating system, even though you have used the service before without problems, you may begin to have data connection issues. To find out what OS you have, go to options and select about. You will see the letter 'v', the 5 or six digit number beside it tells you the version
of your device. To get the correct OS on your device, you will have to download it from your service providers download site.
