How to use your BlackBerry as a modem aka tethering
1. Start the desktop manager.
2. Connect your BlackBerry device to the computer using the USB cable or Bluetooth
3. Go to control panel, select phone and modem, go to modem to confirm the device is read (you will see standard modem).
4. Go to network connections and create a new account. Obtain the dial up number, username and password and APN from your service provider.
5. Go to properties, select the advanced tab and enter +CGDCONT=1,"IP","APN obtained from service provider" in the 'extra initialization commands area. Click ok to save
Note: In step 5, the APN has to be obtained from your service provider. You will also need to check with your service provider for associated charges.
